Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know for our Stony Plain celebration

Where should I stay in the area? +

For the closest proximity to Aspen Country Hills, we recommend the Best Western Plus or Holiday Inn Express in Spruce Grove. There are also charming local Airbnbs nestled in the Parkland County countryside if you prefer a more rustic stay.

What is the best way to get to the venue? +

The venue is incredibly easy to find—it is literally 30 seconds outside of Stony Plain. If you are flying into YEG, renting a car is your best bet. For local travel, we recommend pre-booking with Spruce Grove Taxi. While Uber exists in the area, it can be unreliable for late-night rural pickups.

Are their on-site bathrooms? +

Yes, there are onsite bathrooms with fully flushable toilets.

What should I wear for an August wedding? +

Late August in Alberta is typically warm and sunny! We recommend breathable formal attire for the ceremony. Once the "formal" part of the wedding is over, you can change if you wish. The ceremony and happy hour are outdoors, so sunglasses and breathable long sleeves are encouraged. As the sun sets, the prairie air can cool down quickly, so a light jacket is a good idea for the evening.

Are there things to do between events? +

Absolutely! The bar will be open and there will be lawn games or enjoy the Multicultural Heritage Centre in Stony Plain. Since it’s August, you can also enjoy the the massive onsite greenspace to run those kids around or soak up the sun!

Is there parking available at the venue? +

Yes! There is plenty of parking space onsite at Aspen Country Hills. Guests are welcome to leave their vehicles overnight if they have been enjoying the bar, provided they are picked up by 11:00 AM the following morning.
